Meet “The KB Squad”
Kay Braverman
Kay loves being a Realtor. For the past 30+ years she has been helping people either sell their home in order to “move on” or buy their “dream home.” Working with people, old friends or making new ones, is definitely what keeps Kay looking forward to going to work every day. Her integrity and reputation are of the utmost importance and she strives to make sure every client gets the attention he or she should expect whether buying or selling a home. Kay became a broker/co-owner of Lepic Kroeger Realtors in 2004.
Kay’s family includes her husband, Mace, and two children. Eric lives in Philadelphia with his wife and both work in the food industry. Kay feels extremely lucky because her real estate partner is her daughter, Natasha. Kay spends a lot of her time playing with and dutifully spoiling her grandson, Henry. She also has a Havanese dog named Spike, and several step-children and step-grandchildren. Kay enjoys travel, photography, gardening, cooking and reading. She is involved in many community services as well as being a member of the Advisory Board to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Iowa.
Kay comes by her love of music naturally, having trained as a classical pianist. She earned a Bachelor of Science in music at Bowling Green University in Ohio, and an MA in piano performance at the University of Iowa which is what brought her to Iowa City in 1967.
Natasha Wendt
Natasha is a native of Iowa City, having graduated from West High School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in comparative religion from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts and her Master of Arts in medical humanities from Michigan State University, after which she returned to her hometown. She worked for several years at the University of Iowa College of Medicine and in 2004 Natasha joined Kay as a licensed real estate assistant. In 2007 she became a partner in what is now known as “The KB Squad.” Since beginning in real estate, Natasha has helped numerous clients buy and sell property and has earned the designation of Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR). One of the reasons Natasha enjoys real estate so much is the opportunity to meet so many people with diverse interests and occupations. Sometimes those interests are the same as her own: traveling both in the United States and abroad, scuba diving, reading, cooking and baking. Natasha also takes pleasure in introducing new residents to the greater Iowa City community and its wonderful shops, restaurants, services and organizations. Natasha currently serves on the Board of Directors for Riverside Theatre, Iowa City's only professional theatre group. In the past, she has been involved with Miracles in Motion therapeutic horseback riding program and the Emma Goldman Clinic for Women.
Natasha is mom to five-year-old Henry, who is affectionately known as The Master of the Universe. They have a lot of fun together, including spending time with their whippet dog, The Mighty Quinn, who closely resembles a couch potato, and their two adopted kitties, Sassy and Chance.
Teri Hazelwood
Teri was born and raised in West Branch, Iowa, about ten miles east of Iowa City. Formerly both a human resources specialist for Acciona Windpower in West Branch, and an esthetician at Infinity Spa in Coralville, Teri earned her real estate license in 2009 and became part of the KB Squad in 2011. Teri takes great pleasure and pride in being a professional Realtor and truly enjoys meeting new people. She likes working hard to ensure that each and every client feels good about their real estate experience, whether as a buyer or a seller.
Teri has two fantastic kids, Emery, age eight, and Ava, age five. She hasn’t gotten on the pet bandwagon yet, though. In addition to loving hanging out with her children, she enjoys being involved in her community and participating in a variety of fundraising walks for organizations such as Relay for Life, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Alzheimer’s Association.
